How Can I help Fire in the Belly make it to the playa?

Donate Money for the Art Installation

Fire in the Belly is a self-funded project.  The team is donating their time and some materials but needs cash to purchase the wood and other burnable items.

   

Donate/Lend Materials for the Art Installation

In order to conserve cash, Fire in the Belly is asking the community to donate or lend what ever resources they can. Check out our list at our Needs page and send an email to fire.belly@yahoo.com letting us know what items you can contribute.

Build Structures

Fire in the Belly is being built by non-professional artists.  The team is relying on the community to come out and help build and decorate the structures.  All are welcome to join and volunteers might have an opportunity to learn new skills so they can become their own artists!  Send an email to fire.belly@yahoo.com if you are interested in participating in future build dates.

Sign Up To Be a Team Lead

Fire in the Belly currently has the following Team Lead positions open:

Safety Coordinator, Electrical Expert, Lighting Expert and Treasurer.  If you are interested in filling any of these positions, send an email to fire.belly@yahoo.com; introduce yourself and your desired position on the team.

Sign Up To Be a Creative Contributor

Fire in the Belly welcomes all creative types into the project.  If you are interested contributing to the decoration, lighting or audio, send an email to fire.belly@yahoo.com; introduce yourself and let us know what you want to do on the project.

Assemble Installation on Playa

Fire in the Belly is being built by non-professional artists.  The team is relying on the community to come out and help assemble the installation on the playa.  All are welcome to join and volunteers might get a front row seat to the burn!  Send an email to fire.belly@yahoo.com and let us know you want to be on the On Playa team.

Host Interactive Experience on Playa @ Installation

Fire in the Belly welcomes all interactive experiences on the playa.  If you are interested contributing to the interactive experience by hosting prayer circles, hosting workshops to make dolls or other figurines, host drum circles, host community chats about miscarriages or other losses please send an email to fire.belly@yahoo.com; introduce yourself and let us know what interactive experience you want to create.

Perform Prior To the Burn/Participate In Procession

Fire in the Belly welcomes all creative performer types into the project.  If you are interested in joining the procession send an email to fire.belly@yahoo.com; introduce yourself and let us know your performance specialty.

Share Stories

Fire in the Belly is about building community and support for parents who have lost children in vitro or otherwise.  By sharing our stories, we reduce the stigmatism that parents feel and enable those of us that are grieving to work through the emotional pain.  We encourage you to speak out about your experience so that others do not feel isolated and to process your own grief. Submit your story HERE.

Promote Installation/Become an Ambassador

By telling your friends about Fire in the Belly, we can receive the support we need to make sure that this is a successful installation on the playa.  We can also create connectivity to support those in our community who have lost children.  The more people we touch with our message, the more compassionate the population will be when the next unfortunately set of parents loses a child.  Speak up, share our message and publicly support our project.
